Disco’s Case Builder Review — A Blessing for Litigators

Disco’s Case Builder Platform - LitGod Approved

You are working on a case with numerous deposition transcripts and need to draft a Motion for Summary Judgment. Searching for and citing portions of the deposition transcripts can quickly become a nightmare. That is where Disco’s CaseBuilder comes into play. All the deposition transcripts are stored in one place and easily searchable. Want to cite a portion of the transcript? Click cite and CaseBuilder automatically creates the citation for you.

Did you order a video of the deposition? CaseBuilder automatically syncs the deposition video to the transcript so you can start the video at any portion of the transcript that you click on. You can also export the portion of the video and deposition transcripts which is exceptionally helpful for hearings and trial. The platform also allows you to pull up the deposition exhibits right next to the transcript so you have everything in one place. One thing we did think was missing was a way to link the exhibits to the transcript so you could easily open them from the transcript.

The platform also provides a timeline functionality that allows you to create a timeline of events and then add the supporting evidence for each event so that you can keep all the facts of your case aggregated in one place. This has quickly become one of my favorite features in preparation for trial.

Overall, the UI is very easy to use and the platform was very easy to learn. Pricing starts at $250 per user/per month, which is not bad at all given its functionality.
